Citibank CD Rates Update

Since we had not looked at Citibank CD rates for a while, we here at Best CD Rates Info thought it was high time we brought you a Citibank CD rates update.  The type and terms available haven’t changed since we last looked, but the rates are definitely changed.  Citibank certificate of deposit rates are nationally competitive, but there are some better offers on specific terms, so shop around a little if your expected term is a common one (6 month, 12 month, 1, 3, or 5 year) for the best CD rates.

All Citi CD rates are on accounts which have a minimum of $500 to open (that’s a low deposit!) and are expressed in annual percentage yields (APY).

For a short-term 3 month, Citibank CD rates are 1.01% APY—pretty good for that short of a term.  For a six month term, Citi CD rates are the same APY.  At one year, the certificate of deposit rates jump to 2.25% APY and are definitely worth considering.  Those one year best CD rates are a special right now at Citi and may change quickly.

Two year terms yield 1.75% APY, while three year terms give only 1.25% APY.  Finally, for five year terms, Citibank CD rates jump to 3.0% APY for their other special offering right now.

For the one year and five year terms, these are definitely competitive and better than most.  The other rates are right around the national average for today, so look around for the best CD rates before you lock one in.  All Citibank accounts are FDIC insured.
